Drake equation

The Drake Equation is a probabilistic formula used to estimate the number of active, communicative extraterrestrial civilizations in the Milky Way galaxy. It was developed by Dr. Frank Drake in 1961 as part of the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI). The equation is:
